- Fibrocartilaginous disc joining the two pubic bones in the midline.
- Function
- Allows slight movement and absorbs stress in the pelvic ring.
- Size
- ≈ 4 cm tall, 4 mm wide
- Clinical note
- Pregnancy hormones (relaxin) loosen it, widening the pelvis slightly for childbirth.
