Vena testicularis dextra
CardiovascularBlood vesselsWhole bodyRight side
- What it is
- Ascends beside the gonadal artery on psoas, formed from the pampiniform plexus of the spermatic cord, and drains obliquely into the front of the inferior vena cava just below the right renal vein.
- Function
- Drains the testis.
- Size
- ~3–4 mm diameter.
- Clinical note
- Its oblique entry into the IVC makes right-sided varicoceles uncommon; a new one warrants a search for a mass.
